Yard Waste
The Transfer Station is open its regular hours for dropping off yard waste. There is no fee or permit required to drop off yard waste at the Transfer Station. However, a valid photo ID with a Seekonk address must be presented. The Transfer Station is located at 350 Fall River Avenue behind the American Legion Hall. Regular operating hours are as follows:
Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (closed noon-12:30 for lunch)
2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month from 8:00 a.m. to noon
ABSOLUTELY NO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE TRANSFER STATION!
Yard waste will be collected curbside during the month of May.
Tree Trimming
The Public Works Department is conducting town-wide tree trimming. You may see us in your neighborhood trimming low-hanging branches and cutting back trees to improve visibility.
Mosquito Spraying
Bristol County Mosquito Control Project will begin spraying for adult mosquitoes beginning May 29th, weather-permitting. The purpose of this program is to control nuisance and/or disease-carrying adult mosquitoes. The control material being used will be Anvil (Sumithrin, EPA Reg. #1021-1688-8329) applied in ultra low volume sprayers.
Residents may call 617-582-6218 for access to schedules and locations of spraying a day in advance. Please note, this number is not for requesting spraying. To request mosquito spraying, the office of Bristol County Mosquito control is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Requests can be made via phone at 508-823-5253, fax to 508-828-1868 or email to RequestBristolMCP@comcast.net.
MassDOT Herbicide Applications
MassDOT will soon begin herbicide applications along the State's highway right of ways within effected cities and towns. The proposed work is tentatively scheduled to commence on June 18, 2012 and conclude on July 20, 2012.
