Mission Statement

The Seekonk Finance Committee shall provide advice and assistance to the Select Board and other town officials on financial matters by efficiently identifying, analyzing, and making recommendations on financial matters that have a material impact on the well-being of the Town of Seekonk.

General Information

The Finance Committee serves as the Advisory Board, making recommendations to the Town Meeting on the Town Budget and all Warrant Articles. In addition, the Finance Committee approves appropriations from the Reserve Fund.

The Finance Committee meets on an as-needed basis, except for the months of February - April, when weekly or biweekly meetings are held to review the Annual Town Budget and Warrant Articles for the Annual Town Meeting.

  • Purpose: Oversees and advises on the Town's financial matters. The committee reviews the proposed budget for the coming fiscal year prior to the Annual Town Meeting. The committee reviews, in detail, all monetary proposals to be brought forward at the Town Meeting and provide recommendations on each article for the benefit of the voters.
