Shelter Adoption Program

Program Details

  • Cats are vaccinated against distemper and rabies.
  • Dogs are vaccinated for distemper, parvo, and rabies.
  • Each cat or dog over the age of 3 months is spayed/neutered before it leaves the shelter to go to its new home.
  • Dogs are tested for heartworm/tick-born illnesses and treated if positive.
  • Cats are tested for leukemia, FIV, and heartworm.
  • Dogs and cats are microchipped as well for a fee.
  • Adoption fees are based on the medical that has been given during their stay at the shelter and is offered at a discounted rate.
  • We assume a large portion of the expense of the spay/neuter surgery for the cats and dogs.
  • A neuter/spay deposit is required when an animal is adopted from the shelter before it is spayed or neutered. (Instructions on deposit reimbursement are listed on your final adoption paperwork)
  • We require written landlord permission if you rent your home and proof of ownership if you own your home. (tax bill/mortgage statement)
